ZOYA - Pixie Dust Summer 2013 Collection

**Press Sample**
Hello lovely Readers!
This is the new Pixie Dust Collection from ZOYA for Summer 2013. These are six stunning shades with the Pixie Dust metallic matte texture.

For all my swatches I applied two coats of each shade, I did apply base coat but no top coat.

Solange is described as a gold metal foil sparkle featuring a ZOYA exclusive Gold Pigment.

Beatrix can be best described as a tangerine metal sparkle in the exclusive Zoya PixieDust Textured, Matte, Foil Twinkle formula.

Destiny can be best described as a coral metal sparkle in the exclusive Zoya Pixie Dust Textured, Matte, Foil Twinkle formula.

Miranda can be best described as a rose sparkle in the exclusive Zoya PixieDust Textured, Matte, Sparkle formula.

Stevie  can be best described as a violet sparkle, in the exclusive Zoya PixieDust Textured, Matte, Sparkle formula.

Liberty  is described as a blue sugary sparkle in the exclusive Zoya PixieDust Textured, Matte, Sparkle formula.

I love this collection, every shade is fantastic, I really like how pigmented they are and how sparkly they look even when they dried matte.
I just have to advice you that after wearing Liberty for almost 24 hours I got a terrible stain on my nails.

Thank you very much for reading!
Carolina

  1. Carolina, I wonder what would have happened if you'd worn a base coat. I see Zoya recommends NOT using one. Wonder if it would have prevented the staining, and how much of an impact it would otherwise have had on the formula.

    Thanks for the review.

  2. Ohh they look gorgeous on their own, I would've added a top coat to see how it looks even though it defeats the purpose. Didn't used to care for these but I'm starting to change my mind about textured polishes.
Maybe you should try doubling up on the top coat to see if it reduces the staining? Great swatches :)

  4. I really loved Destiny and Stevie!!! The Zoya PixieDust are the prettier (for me) of all the "textured" nail polishes out there

  9. I'm dripping in jealousy! lol. I've been checking my order all week, and I'm still waiting for mine to be processed and shipped. I know tomorrow is the official day they come out, but I am absolutely bouncing in anticipation!

My favorite thing about Pixie Dust (and OPI Liquid Sands) is that they're super-versatile. You can get 3 different looks out of them. First, of course being the regular way to wear them, with no topcoat. Second, is adding a topcoat for shine. Third, if you add a matte topcoat to them, you get this really cool encasulated-glitter look (kind of like a polish jelly sandwich) It's a little more obvious on the Sands, just because they have more chunky glitter. But it definitely works on Pixie Dust too.
I just love having different options from one polish, and you definitely get options with these. I can't wait to play mine!

By the way, beautiful swatches. I don't know which I'm more jealous of; you having your Pixie Dust already, or the fact that your cuticles are absolutely perfect! :)

  10. Destiny and Beatrix are the two that call to me most. I'm especially suprised because I did not think I would like any of these sand/texture polishes that are the latest and greatest fad, but Zoya's Pixie Dust collections have been slowly changing my mind. So far I just have Vespa.
