Today, Mara from Mara in Polishland blog is here, showing you her beautiful swatches. I met Mara not so long ago via twitter and we became good friends. When I asked her to do a Guest post she immediately said Yes!
Mara is a sweetheart from Argentina, we share the same passion for nail polish and she's an amazing blogger.
After reading this post, I invite you to check out her blog and look all the beautiful swatches she has done.

When Carolina invited me to do a guest post for her blog, I think I almost cried!! I totally love her blog, but the most important thing is that she's a wonderful person, very very generous... and that's why I'm here today!
I love polish collections based on movies, so when I saw that Deborah Lippmann was going to have a set for Snow White and the Huntsman I was really excited!
She tried to capture the opposites of the story, so we have a soft shade and a deep vampy color.
Prelude To a Kiss is a almost white soft pink. It's sheer but buildable in three coats. Very femenine and soft. Formula was excellent, not streaky at all.
I used three coats for the photos below, without top coat.
Dark Side of the Moon is a dark eggplant purple. Extremely shiny and almost jelly like. I used to coats, again without top coat. It was very difficult to get a picture without my reflection haha!!
Having both colors together invited me to play a little with the contrasts of Snow White and the Evil Queen... And this framed manicure was born! Please be kind, it was my first time!!
Deborah Lippmann is one of my favorite brands, I think the quality of the formula and the innovation in the colors make the price a little less painful. I only wished she made new colors for the set!! Prelude for a Kiss and Dark Side of the Moon are part of her permanent collection and I already had both. Buying the set is less expensive, so if you like the colors, it's a good deal! And if you want only one, you don't need to spend in both!
I love fantastic literature and movies... Do you think these colors reflect the spirit of Snow White? Have you ever bought a polish because of the theme and not only the color?
Thanks for reading and thanks again Carolina for this awesome opportunity!!

DeleteMara!
Beso!

dark side is sooooo cute
ReplyDeleteI really love the Dark Side. Pure Perfection.
ReplyDeleteThese framed nails are awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the framing - have not tried it yet - my hand is not that steady and thinking I need to try it with an art pen first maybe. Like the way we can really see the purple of Dark Side of the Moon against the lighter shade - I need to try something like this with my DSOTM - I tend not to wear it too much because it's one that often looks black except in bright light.
ReplyDeleteDark Side is gorgeous! And the framed mani came out quite nice. I haven't tried that technique yet, but I'm dying to.
ReplyDeleteOMG, how do you do that? which nail polish did you use first, the dark ond or the white one? it looks so awesome!!! and so precise... really wooow :)))
